Kalakapäla means “to move into action” in the ancient Totonac language, which is the pioneer culture in vanilla cultivation. The Totonac people inhabit Veracruz and Puebla which, along with other regions in Mexico, have rich soil for growing vanilla, coffee, allspice, cinnamon and cocoa.

In agriculture, one must move into action at the right time, move to sow the best week of the year, move to pollinate the flowers when it’s time, and move to harvest the fruits when they have reached their top potential.

The same applies to life, you must move into action to get over your fears and move forward, move to enjoy a cup of coffee with a delicious vanilla dessert with your loved ones, move to share your very best.

We work in the field and collaborate with small farmers to support their sustainable development so we can grow together. We believe in the power and in the sum of everyone, we think globally but we embrace our roots in local practices.
